The mini Switzerland of India – Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh.

Khajjiar, an old town located in the Himalyas which is one of the coldest places in this earth. Why Khajjiar is known as the Switzerland of India???What is the eye capturing wonder in switzerland?Of course Switzerland is one of the coldest places in this earth so Khajjiar could be a place of cold temperature. As you know that the Himalyas are the coldest part of the India. Is it the only place in this world which resembles Switzerland?Khajjiar is full of blue pines and green grasses when visited during the months of april to october. The view is best on sunny days rather than the shivering coldy breezy days which can move its temperature upto 2 degree. These resemblances may make the Khajjiar similar to the Switzerland i think. Who never likes to walk through the pines where there is a silence except your foot steps.

Khajjiar can be reached with not more than 10 hours from the Delhi. The sign board named the “Switzerland” on the way to Khajjiar makes you wonder that what we may come-across in Khajjiar as same as Switzerland.  I feel very excited to say about the “Pancha Pandava tree” that makes you think that whether there is any true story behind the shape of the tree whose roots are the same but the base splits into six shoots. Well the people in Khajjiar believes in the story that the Pancha Pandavas represent the shoots and the base as Draupati. There is one more tree with 13 shoots said to be “the mother of trees of the area”.

Well there are other mysteries also in Khajjiar, the free flowing lake attracts you for a lake view photo shoots. There are temples and hotels and hill houses for the refreshment and stay. Khajjiar is a place for the mountaineers and ice lovers during winter. Do you believe in ghosts??if yes then the Ghost Banglow in Khajjiar is not a right place for you. Who knows the Ghost Bunglow is named only for namesake or any myths and incidents associated with this. I was wishing to visit foreign countries for my sightseeing but why travelling abroad if we have everything here. Now i am searching for the places in India which can be more attractive and similar to the abroad tourist destinations. Hope you may also visit all these in future and have a chilled experience.
